Above Ground Pools

You’re thinking about putting a new pool into your yard. By far the most economical and easy to install option is to make it an above ground pool. There’s quite a bit to consider before taking the plunge (if you’ll allow me just this one quick lame pun). Not only will you have to work out what size pool will fit in your yard, you’re going to have to decide on the shape of your pool. Above ground pools also come in a variety of depths…you can even elect to put a deep end into the pool.
When choosing the type of above ground pool you want, factors such as the pool liner color, outer shell color and coping color will have to be dealt with. You will also need to choose the type of filter you want to clean your pool.

You must also realise that there will be some time taken out of your leisure hours that will now be devoted to pool maintenance.

Depending on which country you live in there may be government regulations to consider. Some local governments have rules as to how close to the property’s boundary the pool may come, fencing issues, the amount of land that may be taken up by the pool, etc.

Pool installation may also be of concern to you. You may like to do the installation yourself or have a professional do the job for you. If you’re going to do it yourself we’ve got a few tips about potential problems you might need to address.

Once your above ground pool is in and filled there are going to be some pool maintenance issues. Pool chemicals are going to become a big part of your life. You’ll need to learn which pool chemicals you need and when you need to test for them. Manual cleaning and automatic cleaning devices will also be part of the maintenance process as well as a few other odd tasks you’ll need to think about.

There will be some miscellaneous odds and ends that aren’t exactly mandatory but could come in very handy around the pool. Naturally you’re also going to have to shell out for some pool toys and inflatable pool chairs to drift around in.

Finally, once you’ve got yourself a brand new above ground pool, you may start to think how nice a new pool deck would look surrounding the pool. Perhaps some outdoor lounge chairs and a market umbrella to keep the sun off. Over in the corner a brand new barbecue area could complete the entire summer outdoor experience.

Time to cool off.

Enjoy your new above ground pool.
